The Legion has a huge reputation for sponsoring successful Scouting Groups in many parts of Canada. In our District they have a lengthy history with the 1st Summerland Group and the 8th Penticton Group. 3rd Penticton has been grateful to the involvement of St Saviour’s Anglican Church for many decades, the United Church in Summerland was deeply committed to 2nd Summerland Group, the United Church in Penticton sponsored two groups (6th Penticton and 9th Penticton), while the First Baptist Church Group became known as 4th Penticton. For a time during the1960s and 70s, 2nd Penticton Group was sponsored by the United Commercial Travellers (UCT).
